I just finished reading this book and am actually planning to re-read it in case I missed anything the first time! The author's writing makes you feel like you are with her through each exquisitely detailed part of her story. The book has given me a lot to think about in terms of my relationship with my own mother. I would highly recommend it.
Veronica Picone is an excellent storyteller, and she does so with pure honesty and love. I found myself connecting with her in many of her struggles and life experiences. I love her style of writing, creating a movie for us as we see the story of her life unfold.
This is a wonderful story of love and the bond of a mother and child that can never be broken. "Tesoro" is a great success for Veronica and her family.e
I loved the book and the way it was written. The author is a friend of mine and her story really touched me. I have recommended the book to many of my friends. I think it would be an ideal book for a review for a group of people.
Terrific read. She has more patience and forgiveness than I could ever hope to muster. What an evil mother, such a loving daughter. All the feelings.
Very well written account of a life torn apart by a fractured family. And how karma brought them back together.
A beautifully written book, with vivid descriptions, that tells an amazing story of a dysfunctional family, survival, loyalty and love. I was unable to put the book down and could not believe that the author was revealing her own life story....difficult as it must have been. Many of us can see glimpses of our own lives; family relationships help to form who we become as adults. Looking forward to other books from Ms Piccone. I highly recommend it!
Veronica Picone shares her moving journey to reconnect with her siblings and most importantly reconcile with her Mother and know her Father. This beautifully and uniquely written story touched my heart and left me speechless. I cried for her, laughed with her and supported her every step of the way.
I am in awe of the author's compassion, honesty, creativity and ability to forgive and move on. Her incredible story left me hungry for more and questioning my own family ties.
